Stigg Integrates Received.ai to Enhance AI Billing Platform
Stigg acquires Received.ai to streamline contract management and billing.

Stigg, a company known for its pricing and entitlement infrastructure solutions, has acquired billing startup Received.ai. This deal expands Stigg's platform capabilities to integrate contract management and invoicing, while continuing to support third-party billing systems like Stripe and NetSuite.
The acquisition addresses a significant challenge for AI and enterprise software companies: the complexity of keeping customer contracts, usage limits, and billing synced as pricing models evolve. Traditional per-seat pricing is being replaced by credits and consumption-based plans, necessitating more sophisticated billing solutions.
Under the new integration, Stigg will allow customers to transform contract terms into operational entitlements and invoices. This function complements existing billing systems, rather than mandating replacements, according to the companies involved. The integration is especially pertinent as software companies increasingly customize pricing arrangements—such as usage thresholds and prorated charges—which standard billing systems struggle to manage seamlessly.
Received.ai's technology enhances Stigg's platform with features such as contract management, billing schedules, and credit handling. This addition supports formula-based pricing, enabling the calculation of charges based on various variables at the time invoices are generated. Moreover, companies selling multiple products or tracking several usage metrics can unify these into a single invoice per customer.
The new tools are currently in public beta, available alongside Stigg's existing offerings. Customers using major billing systems can maintain their invoicing and payment processes through these platforms. However, for businesses lacking an established billing provider, Stigg claims its enhanced platform can fulfill their billing requirements from customer entitlements through to invoicing.
Shai Betito, founder and Chief Technology Officer of Received.ai, has joined Stigg as Vice President of Engineering, overseeing the integration. According to the companies, Received.ai's technology is now incorporated into Stigg's platform.
This strategic acquisition underscores the shifting nature of enterprise software pricing and billing logistics. By combining contract management with billing mechanisms, Stigg aims to eliminate inefficiencies faced by sales, finance, and engineering teams, thus facilitating smoother transaction processes.
Future developments to watch include the wider rollout of these capabilities and how effectively they can minimize manual intervention in billing exceptions. Stigg's progress in integrating other advanced functionalities will also be closely monitored, especially in the context of supporting increasingly complex pricing models driven by AI advancements.
